This call to the membership of the Cognitive Development Society is for nominations for the third annual Cognitive Development Society Award for the Best Authored Volume. To be eligible, a volume must have a 2005 or 2006 publication date. The subject matter of the volume must be readily recognizable as concerning cognitive development (broadly defined). "Authored" volumes may be co-authored. Volumes conceived primarily as text or trade books are not eligible.
To make a nomination, please send to Susan Goldin-Meadow (sgm at uchicago.edu) the author(s) name(s), title of the volume, and the name of the publisher (and contact information for the publisher if you have it). Nominations, including self-nominations, are welcome any time and are due by January 31, 2007. Eligible volumes will be reviewed by a committee comprised of Susan Goldin-Meadow (Chair), Dare Baldwin, Andy Meltzoff, Bob Siegler, and Amanda Woodward. The committee will select two winners, one for 2005 and one for 2006, both of whom will be announced at the 2007 meeting of the Society in Santa Fe.
