The Journal of Cognition and Development publishes the very best articles on all aspects of cognitive development. In addition to empirical reports, it features theoretical essays
(occasionally accompanied by peer commentaries), and Essay Reviews of new and significant
books. Criteria for acceptance of submitted manuscripts include: the relevance of the work to
issues of broad interest, the substance of the argument (including methodological rigor and support for conclusions drawn), the quality of expression, and the ingenuity of ideas or approach.
Four copies of the manuscript should be sent to:

Manuscripts must conform to the conventions specified in the Publication Manual of the
American Psychological Association, 5th edition, with the exceptions and considerations listed
below.
- Figures and Tables: A note should be inserted in the text to indicate
the approximate placement of each figure and table.
- Title Page: Acknowledgments and a complete mailing address (including
a fax number and an E-mail address) should appear on the title page
of the ms. Authors will receive reviews and most editorial correspondence
by E-mail.
- Electronic Copy: Once a manuscript has been accepted, authors will
be required to submit an electronic copy of the manuscript on diskette.
The diskette should be IBM compatible; the text should be saved in WordPerfect
or MS Word; any tables and/or figures should be saved in a separate file.
Manuscripts that are currently under consideration by another journal, or
that have been published previously, in whole or in part, may not be
